Hi Friend,
Hard work paid off! You wrote until hands cramped, made calls and donated money. Join us to celebrate and make new friends. The implications of the breadth and depth of Democratic wins are still unfolding. This might be hope we’re feeling! Let’s raise a toast (with sparkling cider) to each other for what we collectively achieved on November 4. Click here to let us know you will join us so we have enough bubbly for everyone!
And then we will get to work. Our action teams will be meeting and we will have a conversation about what we’ve learned from the past election and what our strategy will be going into the midterms. More on that below in What We’re Watching – preview: Indivisible is joining other progressive groups intending to support primary challenges to our elected officials who are not fighting hard enough.

- Monday, November 17, Hard work pays off: Celebrate the Election Results with Us! 6:45pm–8:45pm United Parish Church, Brookline.
- Sunday, November 23, Caravan to Stop Avelo at Manchester-Boston Airport. 12:30pm–7:00pm Firm departure, return time approximate. Let us know if you need a ride or can offer one.
- Monday, December 8, Resolutions Project 6:45pm–8:45pm Inspired by the resolutions of condemnation against King George’s rule, these have been passed in Brookline and 23 other municipalities with many more in the pipeline. Come find out how you can aid this national campaign as we Americans enter our 250th year fighting tyranny once again.
- Our four action teams continue to meet. If you’d like to connect with Breaking ICE, Supporting Caregivers, Workplace Outreach Group or our Visibility Brigade. Respond to this email and we’ll get you connected.

No Kings was an enormous success. The largest peaceful protest in history paved the way for the turnout on Election Day. Now the work is both continuing to grow our movement and to stand up to the adminstration’s threats.

While there is along list of businesses we wish we could impact –strategic and impactful boycotts are targeted and winnable. Paramount reversed the decision to cancel Jimmy Kimmel because over a million people cancelled Disney and Hulu.
- We Ain’t Buying It, from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, be part of making Target, Home Depot and Amazon feel our pain. Shop elsewhere and spread the word.
- Avelo Airlines is another example of a targeted boycott. They have a contract to operate deportation flights, aiding in the illegal removal of individuals without their right to a fair hearing or due process. Besides not flying in seats recently occupied by these people, be part of our caravan to Manchester/Boston airport on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
- Don’t stream facism. cancel Spotify. They are streaming ICE recruitment ads. There are other streaming services that are not profiting from the war on immigrants.
- Citizen’s Bank is funding private prisons and detention centers which ICE is using. Close your account and join the Breaking ICE team in front of the bank in Coolidge Corner on Saturday, November 15 from 1:00–2:00pm.

- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits have been cut (while the Great Fatsby hosts parties and puts a chandelier in his bathroom). Food pantries are scrambling to try to meet our communities’ needs. La Collaborativa distributes food in Chelsea and the Brookline Food Pantry serves over 600 families right in our neighborhood.
- The midterms are coming and candidates need money. Delete the incessant requests for money and give strategically. Oath, like our friend Force Multiplier, crunches numbers and analyzes where your $ will have the greatest impact. They have identified 6 congressional candidates in flippable districts in swing states who are heavily favored to win their primaries so the early money that goes to them will be critical when they go on to the general election against an incumbent GOP. They go further in that your donations do not land you on multiple mailing lists AND that peace of mind makes it easier for us to donate.
- Focus4Democracy hosts fundraising calls with organizations and candidates who will be helping win the midterms. A recent call featured Courier Newsroom‘s founder, Tara McGowan, explaining their strategy to reach people who get their news passively. Hard-ish news articles are slipped in among lifestyle stories which keep people reading over months and years. The next call is Wednesday 11/19 at 8:00pm. You can request an invitation to attend on their website.

- “The attention was on Virginia and New Jersey but the real story was Mississippi,” 5 minutes will change your mind about what is called the deep red south.” And then you’ll want to support this vision by donating to Back Forty Action who are working to “save the heartland from the heartless.”
- Great Fatsby, If we didn’t laugh, we might be crying all the time.
- Here’s a short watch that explains the strategy of organizing primary challenges of weak and ineffective Democrats.
- What’s the Plan. Every Thursday the founders of Indivisible answer questions from thousands of people. The conversation is then posted on YouTube and always helps us understand the strategy of resistance, which then gives us hope.
