Dear Friend,
There are darkening clouds, storm (troopers) coming and millions of us who are sounding alarms and building resistance. You are receiving this email because you are an activist and now is the time for you to find ways to do a little more. Share the hope that comes from standing up for what you believe, bring someone who has never been to the next protest, have a hard conversation with someone and help them be a little less enamored by Uncle Trump.
Close to home, call the Governor and your state legislators to register disapproval of Governor Healy’s plans to build a new women’s prison — for $360,000,000 when she’s cutting social services from the budget. Use this form to email your opposition – and ask for a response as a taxpayer and community member: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/email-the-governors-office (sample script available in the toolkit: bit.ly/FreeHerMA).
And remember, you are not alone. We are strong and growing stronger and what America can be.

- Boycotts all July of Amazon, Home Depot and Starbucks have made the news. The hidden cost of the cheap goods on Amazon includes dismantling democracy. Consider boycotting for the month, or like us, for good, and spread the word.
- Stand up for Science is urging people to publicize Trump’s attack on science this summer. Do this with “micro flyers” that you print at home and distribute widely. They suggest waiting rooms, bus seats and even egg cartons! The only limit is your imagination.
- Immigration detentions by masked agents are increasing dramatically in the area. Think you see I.C.E.? Call LUCE’s hotline, 617-370-5023. Put the number in your phone so you can make a quick call and use the military mnemonic for Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Time, and Equipment (SALUTE) to help convey information they need to alert vulnerable people. And here’s another micro flyer with the hotline number.

- Force Multiplier has multiple funds that are well researched so your dollars do the most. Their Blue Media Fund sends money to a a few select organizations that counter disinformation and promote democratic values. The Democracy Defense Fund makes it easy for you to support the three organizations doing the crucial work of taking the administration to court everywhere and anytime. Finally, their candidate funding has a great track record identifying races where relatively small amounts of money can make a big difference. Consider supporting their Early House Slate.
- Rural Ground Game is putting up posters in Virginia with the same messages as the postcards we’ve sent. Virginia is a crucial state with a chance to flip the Governor’s mansion and the necessity of holding their Senate and House.
- Sister District makes a strong case that the real action and the greatest bang for the buck is in State Legislatures. Their research makes sure your money is well spent and the candidates they support are the ones who will provide a crucial line of defense to safeguard elections, advance voting rights, protect abortion access and more. Donate here instead of succumbing to the endless text pleas we are all receiving.

- The 5 Calls app is the easiest most effective way to have an impact.. There are over 100,000 downloads with an average 4.9 rating leading to nearly 9 million calls (it’s that easy).
- Call your state legislators and ask them to make masked law enforcement illegal (we see you ICE). California is doing it, why can’t we?
